Essentially, DTG printing is a process of printing graphics onto garments. The best way to think of DTG is like printing at home from your computer, except that the paper is replaced with a shirt. Tiny water-based textile ink is sprayed onto a garment, which soaks into the fibers of the fabric, meaning you would not feel the design or ink when you touch it. DTG printers range from small desktop-sized models to units that require large climate-controlled garages.
Direct-to-garment inks are water-based. Hence, the best results occur with natural fabrics, as they have the tendency to absorb liquids. The outcome is vibrant colors that are strongly fixated into the fibers resulting in high wash endurance.
Synthetic fabrics, on the other hand, repel water as they are composed of plastic.
The most suitable fabric for DTG printing is Cotton (preferably 80% & above).

The minimum order is, well, ONE. Unlike traditional print methods which require a certain MOQ for 1 design, DTG allows for multiple design customizations at a relatively flat cost curve.
Go wild with your designs with an unlimited color palette. As the print method is digital, complex designs such as full-color photographs, intricate designs or small text fonts can be printed with ease, where other print methods would find either difficult or impossible to achieve.
Aside from the initial artwork file and the maintenance required to have the machine working perfectly, there is very little setup required when it comes to DTG printing.
As DTG allows for low MOQ and a fast turnaround, it opens up the opportunity to print online or on-demand to minimize unsold inventory. With a catalog of ready designs for customers to choose from, you can print the T-shirt designs the same day you receive the order.
